Mindfulness Community Meditation Groups

 

Our Mindfulness Community Meditation groups are open to everyone, beginners and experienced meditators on a drop-in basis–no need sign up or have prior meditation experience.  In these groups, we draw from many traditions, science and sources as we explore together how mindfulness can be a healing presence in our lives and allow us to meet our lives with greater skillfulness, resilience, wisdom and kindness.

We gladly accept donations for these meditation groups. If appropriate for you, consider $5 – 15 per meeting, but any amount, more, less or none is welcome.

The groups are on-going.  If for some reason we are not meeting on a particular day, it will be posted on this page.

 

Tuesday Evening Schedule: will begin on 1/9/18

 

We will begin meeting on weekly Tuesday evenings starting on 1/9/18 at the Midwood International and Cultural Center, 1817 Central Ave. in Room 213 (see directions below). You do not need to sign up in advance or register for this group. Just come if you are able. Our general format is as follows:

  • 6:00 – 6:20 Instruction for Beginners
  • 6:30 – 7:45 Mindfulness Practice including time for sitting practice, mindfulness teaching, practice sharing/questions, announcements.

 

 

Wednesday Morning Schedule: on-going with New Location 1/3/18

 

You do not need to sign up in advance or register for this group. Just come if you are able. Our general format is as follows:

  • 9:00-9:20    Instruction for Beginners
  • 9:30-10:30  Mindfulness Practice including time for sitting practice, mindfulness teaching, practice sharing/questions

Park in the big lot behind the building. Enter the building door to the left of the “Light Factory”. Walk up one small flight of stairs, to enter the main floor level.  Then turn left to walk down the hall, through the fire doors. Walk all the way to the end of the hall and room 213 is the last room on the left.

If you need an entrance with no stairs, please enter through the outside main doors marked “International House” on the right and follow the hall to the left all the way to the far end of building, through the fire doors, to Room 213.
